How to use this simulator
Interactive CVT — Punch VT2/VT3 · drive it yourself in 3D
1 · Drive the unit
Pick a gear — click any P / R / N / D / S pill at the top, or use the DRIVER INPUT panel (bottom-left).
Throttle & brake — drag the sliders and watch a full physics model spin the pulleys, move the belt, and shift the ratio in real time.
Try a fault — the fault selector injects a documented CVT fault so you can see how it presents (symptom + DTC pulse on the affected part).
2 · Read the data
Left column — live telemetry (vehicle speed, engine RPM, line pressure, temperatures, solenoid currents) computed every frame.
Signal-quality dot: ● measured · ● derived · ● estimated. Hover any chip for its confidence + source.
Right column — DTC fault panel, spec sheet, and solenoid current detail.
3 · Inspect the 3D model
Drag to orbit the camera · Scroll to zoom · Right-click drag to pan.
EXPLODE — separates all components along the axis for a teardown view.
SECTION — cuts the model with a clipping plane.
WIREFRAME — X-ray view showing only the cyan edge overlay.
AUTO ORBIT — camera spins continuously around the assembly.
PRESENT — hides UI chrome for a clean visualisation on a TV.
4 · ✋ Hand control (camera + webcam)
Click ✋ HAND CONTROL (or press G) and allow the camera. A live webcam HUD appears bottom-left with the detected gesture and an EXPANSION % meter.
✊ Make a fist to LOCK — freezes the unit at its current angle. Open your hand again to carry on. Use it to hold a view steady.
🖐 Open palm facing the camera = ROTATE — push physics: the surface follows your hand, so move right and it turns right, push up and it rolls up and over (a full 180°, top to bottom), with momentum — a firm flick keeps coasting after your hand stops.
🤚 Turn the BACK of your hand to the camera = EXPAND — the compartments separate; spread your fingers to open further, curl them to close. Flip your palm back to the camera and it holds where you left it while you rotate.
Roll it further than your reach: flick to give it spin (it coasts on its own), then move your hand back slowly to reposition and flick again — like spinning a real globe.
🤏 Pinch (thumb + index, palm up) — move your hand up / down to zoom in and out.
If your hand leaves the camera frame, the unit keeps its momentum and holds position + explode — just bring your hand back to carry on. Brief tracking dropouts are smoothed over.
Click the button again (or RESET) to release hand control back to the mouse. Needs a webcam + internet (vision model loads from CDN). Nothing is recorded — all processing is in your browser.
